Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams, Chief Negotiator Martin McGuinness and senior Ard Chomhairle member Gerry Kelly returned from London this morning after 48 hours of intense and detailed discussions with the British government. Speaking in Belfast on their return Mr. Adams said that he was satisfied that Sinn Féin has kept the British government to the Good Friday Agreement. He said that there has been progress and the process is moving in the right direction. Read full article

Sinn Féin Chairperson Mary Lou McDonald MEP today reported back to the Ard Chomhairle on the consultation, which has taken place within the party over the past fortnight and the recent discussions with the British and Irish governments. Since the Ard Chomhairle met on October 19th in Dublin more than 60 meetings have taken place throughout Ireland. Read full article

Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams MP speaking at the National Congress of Ógra Shinn Féin called on young people to take up leadership roles within Sinn Féin and to ensure that their voice is heard in the discussions which are taking place within the party about the way forward in the peace process. Mr. Adams also spoke about the tragic loss of lives on Ireland's roads and called on young people to talk to their friends and peer group about road safety issues, making bad driving socially unacceptable. Sinn Féin Chief Negotiator Martin McGuinness and Finance spokesperson Mitchel McLaughlin last night met with members of the party's Assembly and negotiations team in advance of this afternoon's cross party meeting with British Chancellor of the Exchequer Gordon Brown in relation to a peace dividend. This follows last weeks announcement from the Irish government setting out key elements of their contribution to a peace dividend. Read full article
